Once a hotel lobby table, now a statement piece where my love for music, nature and craftsmanship comes to life. I made this speaker set as an example to illustrate what is possible.
It unites precision engineering, natural materials, and timeless design — delivering pure, accurate sound in a form that’s built to last and made to be seen.
Every speaker I create carries this same care and detail — and yours can too.
The Constellation speaker set

About the speakers
Solid Wood Construction
Top-quality components

Environmentally sound

Digital precision, timeless craft
Repairable
Engineered for clarity
No MDF, no veneers, no composites. Every cabinet and even the bass port are carved from 100% solid hardwood — for superior resonance, durability, and character.
Every electronic component is fully replaceable, and solid wood allows cabinet repairs if ever needed. These speakers are built to last — and to be maintained.
I use only premium drivers and crossover parts from trusted European manufacturers — carefully chosen for performance, reliability, and tonal accuracy.
I blend CNC machining with traditional European and Japanese hand tools — combining precision with the beauty of handcrafted detail.
My solar-powered workshop runs in harmony with the materials I use. I source only from well-managed European forests — reducing CO₂, minimising transport, and avoiding harm to tropical ecosystems.
A 3-way speaker system with a precision-tuned passive crossover delivers full-spectrum sound — clean highs, rich mids, and deep, natural lows across any genre.

The science behind the art.
Humans generally are able to hear sound waves in between 20 and 20.000 Hertz, whilst feeling the lower end in this domain as vibrations.
My speaker designs are optimised for these frequencies, to guarantee any musical genre is delivered to you in the most accurate and pleasing way possible.
To achieve this, I use a 3-way design with dedicated tweeter, mid-range and woofer drivers. I combine this with a passive crossover network in each speaker, which splits up the audio signal from your music player and dedicates it to the right driver so it is precision-matched for an optimal frequency response.
In short: designed for true audiophiles.

Top quality components
I use only top-tier drivers and crossover components, carefully sourced from some of the most respected and specialized suppliers in Europe.
Our preferred choices include SEAS drivers from Norway and high-performance crossover components from Jantzen in Denmark—both renowned for their precision, reliability, and exceptional sound quality.
If you have a preference for other premium brands, we're more than happy to tailor the design to incorporate them, ensuring a product that perfectly suits your expectations.
The only port worthy of the cabinet
The bass reflex ports I make are also entirely from 100% solid hardwood just as the speaker cabinet, not plastic or resin. This isn’t just an aesthetic choice - it’s about tonal consistency, structural integrity, and staying true to my commitment to natural materials.
Unlike mass-produced plastic ports, wood naturally dampens unwanted resonances and helps maintain a warmer, more organic low-frequency response. Each port is precision milled by a digital CNC, ensuring airflow remains smooth and controlled, even at high volumes.
The result? A bass you can feel — and craftsmanship you can see.

Kintsugi
Instead of hiding cracks or flaws, the Kintsugi philosophy embraces these irregularities and highlights them, making the object more beautiful, unique and meaningful than it was before.
Because I was working with a former table, I decided to fill the holes that used to be wood connections with solid brass rods.
For other irregularities in the wood, I developed a filling technique using a mix colophony (pine tree sap) and natural silicate minerals.
You can choose to have this technique included in your build may irregularities arise. Mineral colour options are available.
Let the grain flow
When the cabinet sides are crafted from the same flat-sawn board, the wood grain flows from one side to the next — creating a continuous, organic pattern that wraps the speaker in a single, unbroken story of the tree it came from.
This subtle detail transforms the cabinet into more than just a functional object — it becomes a piece of natural art, where every line and curve reflects both beauty and intention.
It’s the quiet beauty already present in the wood. My role is simply to let its character speak through the form of the speaker.
About me
My name is Guus Fölkel. I changed the busy city life in Amsterdam for the calm idyllic mountains in the north of Portugal. From my small workshop here, close to the source of the wood, I design and build each loudspeaker by hand. Guided by a deep love for music and craftsmanship, I take pride in carefully engineering and shaping each piece with precision and care.
